His Majesty’s Armed Forces

Gapla’s armed forces defend Gapla and its allies from foreign threats.

The standard of the Armed Forces is shown above.

Defending Gapla

His Majesty’s Armed Forces are the Federated States of Gapla’s national armed forces, defending Gapla and its allies from foreign threats. The Prince of the Danubias is the ceremonial commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces.

The Armed Forces has three branches: the Ground Forces, the Naval Forces, and the Air Forces, as well as the Federal Intelligence Service, an independent bureau and specialized organization of the Gaplan government managed by the Ministry of State Security, which also manages the Armed Forces and the Federal Police Service.

Prior to settlement, only the Ground Forces, Naval Forces, and the Federal Intelligence Service are in limited operation. The Air Forces are not in operation prior to settlement.

Branches of the Armed Forces

Branches of the Armed Forces are specialized divisions within His Majesty’s Armed Forces.

Each of the branches has a specialized, unique role in defending the Federated States of Gapla.
Prior to settlement, the Ground and Naval Forces also arrange transportation for Gaplan settlers and expeditioners.

Ground Forces

His Majesty’s Ground Forces defend Gapla and its allies from threats on the ground.

This branch is currently active prior to settlement in a limited capacity to protect Gaplan settlers from foreign threats, including from the Croatian Border Police.

Naval Forces

His Majesty’s Ground Forces defend Gapla and its allies from maritime and river threats.

This branch is currently active prior to settlement in a limited capacity to protect Gaplan settlers from foreign threats, including from the Croatian Border Police.

Air Forces

His Majesty’s Air Forces defend Gapla and its allies from threats in the air and in space.

This branch is currently not active prior to settlement, and will only become active by the passage of a Gaplan constitution following settlement.

Intelligence and Police Services

The Federal Intelligence Service and the Federal Police Service are managed by the Ministry of State Security.

While not a part of His Majesty’s Armed Forces, these independent bureaus work closely with the Armed Forces, which are also managed by the Ministry of State Security. Prior to settlement, only the Federal Intelligence Service is active in a limited capacity; the Police Service delegates most of its responsibilities to the Ground Forces.

Federal Intelligence Service

The Federal Intelligence Service collects vital national intelligence.

Both domestic and international intelligence is collected to advance national security, for public benefit, and to aid the Federal Police Service and the Armed Forces. Throughout Gaplan history, the Federal Intelligence Service (formerly known as the Intelligence Agency of the Gaplan Federation) has played a significant role in Gapla’s national security, and is not a purely ceremonial organization, even prior to settlement.

Federal Police Service

The Federal Police Service protects Gaplan citizens from internal threats.

The Federal Police Service enforces the law of the Federated States of Gapla and protects Gaplan citizens from internal threats, collaborating with the Federal Intelligence Service on its investigations and forwarding information to His Majesty’s Armed Forces. The Federal Police Service is not active prior to settlement, and will only become active by the passage of a Gaplan constitution following settlement.
